I love the old Colorado mining towns, had fun touring them when I lived in Colorado Springs many years ago. Your traveling outfit looks perfect for this adventure, in particular in the sepia tone postcards. Have the aspens begun to turn yellow yet? Nothing like that sight for me.
Aspens won’t turn for another two weeks. A fellow train passenger said they are spectacular when they turn gold she said the trees shimmer.
The aspens were still green while I was on the train, but were just starting to turn as I left Gunnison a few days later. A local said they look like glittering gold when the turn…
